Yeah, you read that right! Its a ‘Fablet’ and not a ‘Phablet’, the sleek device is what MTV names as ‘FABulous Tablet‘. MTV, India’s leading youth brand association has launched the 6 inch fablet in association with Swipe telecom.
The device packs a great hardware along with an exclusive inbuilt TV Player, offering viewers on the go access to MTV. The specs include a 6 inch screen, 1 Ghz Dual core processor, 512 Mb RAM, Jelly Bean 4.1.1, 1.3 MP secondary camera and an 8 MP rear camera. The best part of it that its priced at Rs. 12,999/- only. The other regular features include Dual sim support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G support and 3200 mAh battery.
The device is mainly targeted towards the youth offering them Information, Communication and Entertainment on the move. It weighs merely 239 gms and sports a funky looking and aesthetic velvet body.
Talking about the Device, Mr. Sandeep Dahiya of Viacom 18 said.
“MTV VOLT is a ‘made to order’ product for the generation that’s constantly communicating, entertaining and socializing. With features that address their needs and price-point that suits their pockets, we’re confident about MTV VOLT by Swipe, to generate a great response”
MTV Volt will be available across 10,000 retail points across India, Swipe e-store and also leading online portals like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Infibeam and eBay amongst others and other youth centric platforms. The release date has not yet been specified.
The device will face competition from already existing budget phablets in market such as Karbonn A30 and MicroMax Canvas HD.

check the mikromax a116 HD. it has quad core, 1GB RAm and HD screena nd dual sim and better service.
Agreed, but the device has a 6 inch display compared to MicroMax’s 5 and a better battery. Also, comparisions show that the MTV device has a better Camera (Both Front and Rear).

I keep looking at phablets as they are called can’t make my mind up whether to get one or not. I like the idea of combining the phone and the tablet so you only need one device. But haven’t quite got around to splashing the cash. Will definitely have a look at the volt though looks a really decent contender.
