We are currently in the second year of the second decade of 21st century. Today, everything has gone digital. The lifestyle has become high tech. With life, our equipment have also become highly technical.

How many of you remember yourself playing Dave or mario game in Windows XP a few years back? Those were awesome memories. Weren’t those? Well, but today, neither windows XP nor the games like Prince and mario are popular. Today, users like the games which are more creative and full of entertainment like NFS and GTA. Performance of these high level games depend a lot on the factors like Graphics Card and Processor.

Top gaming processors from intel are:

1.Intel i7 3960x

It belongs to the Sandy Bridge family from the i7 series of processors from intel. The ‘X’ denotes Extreme which is the top notched and the most powerful processor from Intel till date. The i7 3960x consists of 6 cores and has the Hyper Threading technology with 2 threads operating for each core making it function pretty much like a 12 core processor. This gives superior performance in video trans-coding and parallel tasking. It has a core clock speed of 3.3 Ghz and can be increased to 3.9 Ghz by its Turbo boost technology and by severe overclocking it can be taken to as much as around 5+ Ghz with proper cooling solution. It has its cores unlocked meaning the multiplier can be increased up to 57x for higher overclocking and performance output. Integrated gpu is not available in this i7. It is available for $1000 and in Indian market for around Rs.60000. Considering the potential, it is surely the most powerful processor till date.

2.Intel i7 3930K

The i7 3930K is a performance processor and also one of the high end gaming processor from the same Sandy Bridge family. It comes with a stock clock speed of 3.2 Ghz which can further be increased upto 3.8 Ghz with the Turbo boost technology as any other Sandy bridge processor. It is a Hexacore which means it has 6 cores and has 12 threads with 2 threads operating for each core. With a proper motherboard and cooling the clock speed can be increased to as much as 4.2 to 4.7 Ghz max depending on the cooling. The cores on this cpu is unlocked as the same as case in the 3960X. Same as the i7 3960X,integrated gpu is not present in this one also. The price tag for this is almost half of that of the 3960X that is it comes for $540 and in India market comes for around Rs.36000.

3.Intel i7 3770K

This i7 belongs to the latest family of Ivy bridge processors or the third generation i- series processors. It comes with a stock speed of 3.5 Ghz and can be increased up to 3.9 Ghz with Turbo boost technology. Unlike the i7 3960x and the 3930K, the i7 3770K comes with 4 cores with 2 threads operating in each core and a total of 8 thread. As any other i7 this one also has the Hyper Threading technology and thus gives an advantage when it comes to gaming or video processing and transcoding. The new manufacturing process which Ivy Bridge is built on uses 22nm 3D tri-gate transistors, which are claimed to have up to 50% less power consumption for the same performance as 2D transistors. The i7-3770K has the HD Graphics 4000 GPU inside them. This new HD Graphics 4000 has DirectX 11 support and can run upto 3 monitors simultaneously. This new i7 has unlocked multiplier much like the previous i7 only that this time its upto 63x compared to the older 57x architecture. It runs on 100mhz bus thus multiplying it with the fsb multiplier of 63x,it can reach up to speed of astonishing 6.3 Ghz provided extreme cooling solution or condition. This processor comes for around $499 and should price around Rs.25000 to 30000 in Indian market.

4.Intel i7 2600K

This one of the most acclaimed and seemingly the highest sold budget high performance gaming processor. The i7 2600 K comes with 4 cores and a stock clock speed of 3.4 Ghz can go upto 3.8 Ghz.It also has the Intel Hyper Threading technology and has 8 threads in total. Its multiplier unlocked meaning its multiplier can be increased to a max of 57x with 45x being the most stable multiplier increase in the overclocking results and thus yielding a speed of around 4.9 Ghz with proper cooling solution. The performance of this processor is comparable to the Ivy bridge i7 3770K only with the integrated gpu of the 2600K lagging behind the 3770K in terms of performance but that does not matter much as the present day game requirements can never be fulfilled with the integrated gpu of the processor. The 2600K comes with an Intel HD 3000. When it comes to power consumption, the i7 2600K consumes comparatively less power than the i7 3770k. Also the fsb multiplier comes down to 16x and thus making the clock speed 1600Mhz when in idle state does consuming the least possible power and generating minimum possible heat levels. The i7 2600K comes with a price cap of $249 and in the Indian market being available for around Rs.17000 thus making it the best budget high performance i7 processor.

5.Intel i5 3570 K

The Intel i5 3570K is the latest addition to the i5 series. This new i5 originates from the Ivy bridge family and is a successor to the much acclaimed all round gaming processor i5 2500K. The i5 3570K comes with 4 cores and a clock speed of 3.4 Ghz and can be increased upto a clock speed of 3.8Ghz with the Intel turbo boost technology. It lacks the Intel Hyper threading technology meaning it has only 4 threads in total which results in performance degradation when running applications that require threading. The i5 3570K comes with unlocked multiplier much like any of the high end i7 processors and can be increased upto around 45x compared to the 2nd generation i5 which had a comparatively low multiplier. This enables the cpu to get higher speeds than its default turbo boost technology and can be increased to a speed of upto 4.5 Ghz.The i5 3570K comes with Intel HD 4000 graphics does having higher gpu performance and DirectX 11 support compared to the inferior gpu of the i5 2500 K.When it comes to power and heat generation it consumes comparatively more power than the i5 2500 K and also produces more heat. Thus the i5 3570K stands tall among any of the other i5 family processor and a worthy successor to the globally acclaimed i5 2500K.It is available in the market for about $245 and in the Indian market for around Rs.12000 ~ Rs.13500.Thus for gamers’ who want high end all round performance at affordable price, this would be the best low budget gaming processor in the market above the i5 2500K.

Above mentioned were 5 best processors available in the market as of today, if you know of any other do let me know.
