We cannot deny the fact that the evolution of commenting systems allows us to use them for many other tasks than just getting the opinions of different people who visit our virtual platforms. This is because most of these systems come along with numerous added features, such as whitelist and blacklist management, spam control, theme customization, integration with social media platforms, back end managing, and many others.

Top 5 3rd Party Commenting Systems  for WordPress are :

It is essential to bear in mind that the commenting system that you use in association with your website or blog plays a pivotal role especially because it can help you to achieve particular outcomes. In order to help you to choose the right commenting system for your WordPress virtual platform, the following lines present the top alternatives that you can find these days.

  • InteseDebate: This commenting system belongs to Automatic, the company that runs WordPress. For many users of WordPress, knowing this detail represents a good reason for using IntenseDebate. This commenting system brings along a series of features, such as email notifications, comment threading, commenter profiles, reply via email, blacklisting, comment voting, reputation points, API, plugins, widgets, opened, Facebook, FriendFeed and Twitter integration, RSS tracking, Gravatar, and HTML formatting. A great thing about this system is that it allows bloggers to reply their readers via email. Obviously, this thing would not be possible without this system.

  • Disqus: Disqus is another 3rd party commenting system that one can add to his or her WordPress software. It comes with specific features that are similar to those of the IntenseDebate. It allows users to benefit from real time features, reply via email, opt for mobile commenting, check reader profiles, choose social sharing and integration functions, activate spam management and mobile application, integrate whitelist and blacklist technology, select activity streams, and much more. Especially for WordPress, it provides import and export functions, design and theme customization, and SEO friendly tools.

  • ECHO: Also known as JS-KIT, this system comes in two different options, which provide a variety of core features, such as single sign on, premium support, real time tools, white label for different environments, customizable and flexible functions, analytics, reward systems, and special game mechanics. Based on the chosen option, this system can easily provide some truly neat options and great integration capabilities.

  • Livefyre: This 3rd party commenting system is quite new. But, although it has already developed a rich user base, most users are not very happy with the quality of the features it provides. This system offers media integration, user rating tools, live comment stream, comment voting, mobile interface, comment import, multiple notifications, blacklist and whitelist, spam control, flagging, game mechanics, site profiles, custom domain integration, API, and community moderation. Most people consider that although the features of this system are nice, it lacks the capability of growing the user base.

  • Facebook: This commenting system allows users to connect its features with various WordPress platforms. Facebook Comments is quite new and for the moment, it does not provide integration with Google or Twitter as other systems do. However, a great thing about this commenting system is the fact that it forces people to disclose their identity, which means that we can finally avoid getting “anonymous” comments.

Hello Bishwajeet, I have a lot of respect for every platform and each one has it’s uses and pros, as well as cons. I DO think each one has it’s place. Unfortunately you can only use one or the other, except of course for Facebook, which you can integrate with any other ones.

I haven’t any experience with ECHO and I’m gonna check it out very soon.
