Whenever we talk of presentations, whether we have to deliver it, or just view it; Most of us only think of the same old Microsoft PowerPoint. To be frank, watching the slides with pathetic or no animation, makes it a wee bit monotonous. But, what good would it do to state that here if it isn’t with a twist. The world has evolved and so has the way of giving Presentations.
Introducing Prezi, which is a Flash based online Presenting / Story Telling application. Prezi helps us make stunning Prezis (That’s what they call a presentation made on Prezi) in very little time, it uses the simple animation techniques like Zooming and Panning to give new life to the oh so boring slides. The best part is, the animation is downloadable, embeddable and of course, editable. Here’s something that give you a taste of what it actually is :
Yeah, the whole thing is made in Prezi (not the video, the animation) . It gives you ways to explore your Creativity and present your content in a complete new manner. Prezi uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides. Text, images, videos and other presentation objects are placed on the infinite canvas and grouped together in frames. The canvas allows users to create non-linear presentations, where users can zoom in and out of a visual map.
Making your First Prezi:
- Head over to www.prezi.com.
- Make a new account (If you are a student or teacher, you can get an educational account with a storage of 500MB, free of cost).
- Click on “New Prezi” and you are good to go. :)
Now, learning Prezi takes about 15 minutes, and a little Knowledge of Flash would help make your Prezis even stunner. The complete resource guide to make a Prezis is given here. Prezi is now available for iOS as an App.
[Tip : Do visit the explore section and watch Prezis made by other Authors, it will give you ideas and some of them can even be used as a template]
