Angry Birds needs no introduction. It was the most popular game in 2010 in Android, IOS, and Symbian App stores. Its an arcade game featuring a very “angry” war between birds and pigs !! Although primarily released for mobile phones, Rovio (the creators of Angry Birds) released a desktop edition of the game. The game features 100+ levels and sustains never ending excitement. But it is released only for the Windows platform. But do not worry Ubuntu users !! You can play it perfectly well under wine. Here is a screenshot :
How to setup ?
- Get a desktop version of angry birds for $4.99 here.

I like few other games made for windows but which runs perfectly in ubuntu using the wine emulator such as Icy Tower and Pocket Tanks. To add the fun, Pocket Tanks is a 2-player game and can be played effortlessly on LAN :). Both are addictive and of course free!
fcourz pocket tanks is classic :)
Free for Android and 5$ for Windows .. Unfair ..
Well, you can’t help it man. Android is coming up big time and to encourage people to buy more Android stuffs these monopoly is kinda inevitable!

This is the first time I heard about Angry Birds in Ubuntu. It’s nice to know. My laptop’s OS is Ubuntu. I’d like to see how this works in Ubuntu.
If you’re running Chrome or a recent beta of Firefox (like 6.0) you can play the web version of Angry Birds in any Linux distro without Wine.
