Google has launched  a new feature in its google maps application that lets user get the weather report around the world,a move that will make travelling and other activity planning quite easier. The company is providing this facility through an  arrangement with The Weather Channel’s weather.com and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. The weather data used by Google Maps comes from weather.com, while information on cloud coverage is provided by the Naval Research Laboratory.

User can access  ”weather layer”  through a widget in the upper right corner of Google Maps. Clicking on  the weather icon for a particular city opens a window with data like current humidity and wind conditions, as well as a forecast for the next four days .Users can also change unit of temperature (°C | °F )  wind speed (km/h |  mph | m/s)  or hide clouds in map.

Google maps ,no doubt have become more useful giving me more reason Why my life can’t be without Google.

  1. MicroSourcing

It’s a good feature for travelers who need to be informed of extreme weather conditions. Hopefully they’ll do a similar feature with Google Places since the two platforms are similar and geography-based.

  2. Driver Updating Software

Haha! Google come up with the most interesting, and great updates all the time. I think this new update will really come in useful for me.
