Nokia has announced Make My App contest to promote its latest Nokia N8 mobile as the top 3 contestant will get a Nokia N8 smartphone. In this contest you will think of a unique idea which can be developed as an app for Nokia Ovi store . This contest encourages its mobile customers to develop and send exciting ideas for cool new mobile apps. And if the contestant is lucky enough, his idea will be developed into a downloadable app by professional developers and will be placed on the Ovi Store for Nokia customers to download. Not only this, the three best entries get the new Nokia N8, Nokia’s latest smartphone.

Entry into the ‘Make My App’ is simple. Interested candidates need to choose all or any one of the four app categories specified by Nokia in its website, www.makemyapp.nokia.co.in These categories are Think Green, Fun and Games, Easier Living and Better World. The costumers can log on to the above mentioned site and submit their app idea(s). The contest is open from August 19, 2010 to September 19, 2010.

Once submitted, the app ideas will be open for public voting online and 10 of the most popular ideas shortlisted will be to the final round. Out of the shortlisted ideas, three ‘top ideas’ will be selected by a panel of judges who will then win a brand new Nokia smartphone, the Nokia N8. The 13 winning ideas will be made into real apps at Nokia World event held in London on September 14-15, 2010.
