Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone was announced to be launched by Microsoft this Valentine’s Day. We were expecting Lumia 800 in a bundle with several other accessories would be available in the Microsoft’s chain of retail stores this month, but the surprise from the company is the $899 price tag. The verge said that the special bundle will come with the unlocked smartphone (no carrier lock-in), an in-ear Bluetooth headset, a Purity HD stereo headphone set and a Nokia Play 360 wireless speaker.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said in the final CES keynote that “the Nokia Lumia 800 will eventually find its way into the United States via Microsoft’s stores without carrier support.” With the launch of bundle, Microsoft is trying to bag all the valentine day’s gift shopping costumers but with the $899 price tag, they might prefer gifting a diamond to their love.

The phone looks nice and I expect great things from it seeing as it is a Microsoft product. I think Windows phones will eventually become a top contender along with Apple IOS and Android phones, and this may be the one to begin their climb to the top.
