Nokia, the heavyweight of Indian Mobile Industry finally entered into the dual SIM mobile business in India, with two products Nokia C1 (C1-00) and Nokia C2 (C2-00). This move is trying to counter all Indian mobile companies like Micromax,Karbonn,Lava etc. who have captured the Indian market in the sub Rs. 5000 market by providing feature rich mobile phones with dual SIM phones in that price range.
According to Market research company IDC ,Nokia’s market share dipped from 64% in 2008-09 to 52.2% in 2009-10. The company’s revenue too fell from Rs16,567 crore to Rs14,100 crore during the same period.
All this happened due to the sudden rise of Indian Mobile companies who were offering Dual SIM phones with great features and suddenly very few people were buying low end Nokia Phones .
Nokia released two phones Nokia C1 (C1-00) and Nokia C2 (C2-00) to cater people who need dual SIM mobile phones with long durable battery life and with features like net browsing .

Similarly, C2 model, which will be available later this year, will allow users to access services such as Ovi Life Tools and Ovi Mail. This mobile is more targeted towards youth lots of facilities enabled. It will also have a music player and support smicro-SD cards of up to 32 GB capacity. Nokia C2-00 is the stylish dual SIM mobile phone with an external hot swap-enabled SIM slot and great multimedia and messaging features. The phone lets you keep one SIM card inside it and use the hot swap-enabled slot to insert another SIM at any time and switch between cards easily. You can stay in touch with email, access information and services and enjoy the features like camera, music player and microSD cards.
Nokia C2-00 comes in a stylish and compact design in a range of colors namely Red, Dark Grey, Warm Grey and Cool Grey with a distinctive golden detailing. The phone has an internal memory of 64 RAM that can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD cards. The multimedia features include stereo FM radio with recording, Nokia music player, 3.5 mm headset plug and Nokia Music Store support.

“As per our deep consumer insights, entry-level consumers need dual SIMs for various reasons. To address these consumer requirements, Nokia has launched these two devices that offer multiple SIM capabilities with a balanced feature set and ‘relevant innovations’ at affordable price points,” Nokia Executive Vice-President (Mobile Phones) Mary McDowell told journalists .
What do you think about this, will this restore Nokia’s brand recall in the lower end Mobile market where is used to be leader few years back with its famous mobile Nokia 1100 and related series .

As a lover of Nokia 1100 , I may get my hands on c1-00 model to check the battery life.
I accept your view, Micromax, Karbonn, even China Sets gave great Challenge to Nokia which made Nokia to take this desperate step to enter into Dual Sim market.
I like C class because of price. Nice features for good price.
