Micromax A116 canvas HD is a new flagship phablet by the Micromax. It is a successor to the A110 Canvas 2. But this time the micromax has put their best into its phablet . With a quadcore processor, 5 inch display, HD screen and many more, this phablet has already landed in the market with a roar. Also Canvas A116 HD is giving a tough competition to Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Grand Duos. So is Micromax’s A116 Canvas HD is worth the money? Will it be a good option ahead of Samsung’s Grand Duos?

REVIEW:

Well looking into its hardware specs Canvas HD A116 looks quiet promising to me as it is powered by a Quad Core 1.2 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM. While Samsung Galaxy Grand duos has a 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor with 1 GB of RAM. Clearly Canvas HD will work faster than the Grand Duos. Canvas HD has a 5 inch screen with IPS LCD display and a 1280 x 720 screen resolution with 294 ppi. Where a Samsung’s Grand Duos also has a 5 inch screen but with a lower resolution than the canvas HD. Canvas HD has an internal memory of 4GB and expandable up to 32GB. Samsung’s Galaxy Grand duos have 8GB internal memory and it is expandable up to 64 GB.  Canvas HD has an 8 megapixel rear camera with a duel LED flash which is capable of recording 720p (HD) videos.  Grand Duos also has an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash, it can record 1080p videos. Camera quality of Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is better than the Canvas HD.  Canvas HD has a 2000 mAh battery which works 12-15 hours on a single charge. Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos has a good battery of 2100 mAh.

So looking into these features clearly Micromax’s Canvas HD has an edge over Samsung’s Galaxy Grand Duos. When looking both these smartphones in terms of price, then I think everyone would definitely go for Canvas HD as Micromax priced its flagship model at Rs.13, 990, while you can get Grand duos at Rs.21, 500.

VERDICT:

This very smartphone from Micromax has got all the latest available features in it. A 5 inch screen with a quad core processor, running 4.1 Jelly Bean running (upgradable to 4.2) seems a very good deal for me to purchase a new Android smartphone. Yes, @ Rs.13, 990 you’ll never get all these features into a smartphone at least with this price. Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is also another phablet available right now in the market. You just need to give extra Rs.6000- Rs.7000 for a smartphone with almost same specs. I would recommend Micromax Canvas HD A116 as it the best phone available with excellent value for money.
