1: When u create new account u must remember your zip code, date of birth, security Q & A , so if anything goes wrong then u can easily retrieve your password back .
2: Mostly people choose 6 to 10 words password which can b easily crack by BRUTE FORCE or password hackware … because their are many passwords list in hacking world which updates daily new password,so try to choose 15 to 25 words password which is hard to crack by the hackers.
3 : Don’t put your password in any page that looks like real yahoo or orkut or facebook ,but the URL is different from the original site . It might be a phishing page, remember phishing pages are like http://(anything).com/orkut or /login. But in real the sites have these types of URL orkut.com,facebook.com etc.
4: Don’t accept any .EXE or .JPG file from the person you don’t know and if u accept then check it online by virus scanning before accepting the file from your friends. You can use Virustotal online virus scanner which is quite a handy tool to scan viruses online.
5 : Don’t click any website looks like ip and port address (example) http://10.100.50.4:8045 this might be a trojan website .

i probably should have read this post before using facebook, my ex hacked my account using http://www.hackfacebookpasswords.net or something, but parently iy cos my password was ‘password’ lol
