Lot of people use to take their mobile broadband abroad while travelling to a new destination . But this may increase their bills if they are not aware of the charges. Recently a user was charged heavily by one the company which provide broadband service in UK.

Even downloading small packets of data may be quite costly for you, so you should know about the companies billing system before using any such type of offers on pay as you go mobile broadband .Most of the companies don’t disclose their offers before the consumers about the mobile broadband .

Recently vodafone slashed the rate of mobile broadband for abroad use,but it is still believed that the mobile companies are charging a hefty amount for the mobile broadband usage outside the country. The governments need to look into this matter and there should be a upper limit on the price of mobile broadband which should be charged by the mobile companies for using it. Lot of students travel abroad for their training/internship in the summers and they will be really pleased by this kind of announcement if it happens bythe government.

Rather than use pre-paid, if you want to reduce the hassle then you can go post-paid and rent a USB modem from Cellhire (http://www.cellhire.co.uk). The have a UK version and an international version with a couple of bundle sizes. Depends on the usage you’re planning whilst abroad.
