Nexus 7, a product of Google and ASUS, was officially launched on 13^th of July as part of Google’s strategy to enter the tablet market. With this, Google plans to rock the tablet market with its own mobile software Android which has already a huge rage in the mobile industry. The tablet is the result of the combined efforts of Google software genius and Taiwan’s Asustek with its hardware expertise. The Taiwan company has been known in the tablet industry for a long time for delivering products which stand to the expectations.

The tablet has succeeded in making a nexus with the consumers by delivering a hardware which has appealed to the tablet seekers and gadget reviewers. Most of the stores selling Nexus 7 have declared that the gadget is not in stock. The first two allotments of the preorders have been over and the third is due in August. The tablet has earned several plaudits from the tech pundits for its features and all of them have predicted a fall in sales of Amazon’s product. With merely a day after its launch the tablet has made the people wait for the third shipment of the preorders not to talk about the order that they are yet to receive.

Google’s 7-inch tablet comes with high resolution IPS display of 1280 by 800 which is guarded by a scratch resistant glass. This results in HD movies being more life-like and gaming experience more slick. Android 4.1 which they have termed as the Jelly Bean powers the slender tablet with a powerful battery. The tablet uses the reference platform of Nvidia’s Kai carrying 1.2 GHz processor. Working inside the tablet is a Tegra 3 processor storage capacity of 8 GB ($199) and 16 GB ($249). Weighing just 0.75 pounds Nexus 7 consists of a 1.2 MP front facing camera. Launched at a price of $199 the tablet aims to contend with Amazon’s tablet, Kindle Fire which comes at the same price but with much less features. Google’s tablet has redefined our expectations from an inexpensive tablet. Nexus 7 has fired the  Kindle Fire  from the league with its pricing and specifications.

The pocked back keeps it away from the low-end vibes and makes you feel good while holding it. The price of Nexus 7 makes it affordable and the best in the category of 7-inch tablets. It has smoked out Fire Kindle and has potential to make Apple unveil a product in this segment if it wants to lead the tablet market. The increasing sales of Nexus 7 are a verdict in itself for topping all its competitors with a significant margin. Only possible disadvantage seems to be the non availability of the tablets. All those in already in love with this gadget will have to wait for sometime before they can lay their hands on this unrivalled device in its segment.
