Finally the social networking giant, Facebook has now officially launched Facebook Messenger for Windows. The app works in Windows 7 in which lets you IM friends via Windows 7 . You can chat, read your news feed and even receive notifications from your desktop without been into the main site i.e. www.facebook.com. However there are some missing elements from the app like video chat (through Skype) and group chat, which are there inside its web interface . The app doesn’t support windows XP now but Facebook is currently working on a version of this app for Windows Vista.

Personally speaking, I am not a big Facebook fan, but there are millions upon millions of people all over the globe who can’t go a day without logging into the world’s largest social network and checking out what kind of sandwich their old school friend had for lunch, or poking their best friend in an act of online bullying. Facebook Messenger has been released only for the Windows platform (Windows 7). The Windows Vista and Mac version will be released soon. The iOS, Blackberry, Windows Phone and Android mobile users already have access to the Facebook Messenger app.
