After creating the cheapest car in the world Indian engineers are again with a wonderful product a 35$ Laptop which is developed by IIT and IISc Graduates .This laptop is the cheapest laptop in the world with not a single laptop even nearby the Price range of the 35$ or even double of that . Even  most popular $100 laptop plan named as One laptop per child costs 199$ while implementation( Source Wikipedia ). Kapil Sibal the union minister launched the low cost access-cum-computing device for learners and teachers which would be made available through educational institutions by 2011 .


“The price of the device is expected to be around $35 (Rs. 1,500), gradually dropping down to $20 and ultimately $10 per piece,” Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said, while unveiling the device here.

The device, which is no bigger than a conventional laptop, will have all elementary features, including internet browsing. It is a single unit system with a touch screen and a built-in keyboard along with a 2 GB RAM memory, wi-fi connectivity, USB port and powered by a 2-watt system to suit poor power-supply areas.Based on Open Source, the device does not have a hard-drive. It can not only support video-web conferencing facility, but also boasts of several other latest features — multimedia content viewer (pdf, docx, ods, adp, xls, jpeg, gif,png, bmp, odt, zip, AVCHD, AVI, AC3), searchable Pdf reader, unzip tool for unzipping files, computing capabilities such as Open Office, SciLab for printing support, media player capable of playing streamed along with stored media files, USB port etc.

“This is our answer to MIT’s $100 computer,” human resource development minister Kapil Sibal said.
