Bluestacks’ app player emulates the Android apps on Windows in both the interfaces of traditional desktop and touch interface. They have released an alpha launch in which the app player although allows you to install some of the android apps, but will not provide you with direct access to the android market. The installation of the android apps would require an android market accessible device, which after being purchased can be used to install in the app player.

“The Metro UI is beautiful, but the number one thing Windows 8 is missing is apps,” Bluestacks CEO Rosen Sharma said in a statement at CES ‘12. “This changes all that.”

 
Microsoft staff apparently have mixed opinions on BlueStacks, according to the company’s CEO, with some simply glad to see more Metro-compatible programs and others preferring native code instead.BlueStacks also confirmed its latest OEM partner, with Taiwanese manufacturer InHon set to release anUltrabook with BlueStacks pre-installed sometime around March. A version of the machine with Windows 8 at its core will also ship later this year, according to the company.

Finally the App Player has ended the alpha and is launching in beta this February. Users who would like to sign up for the beta can do so via the company’s signup page.

Tobii specializes in developing new eye tracking technology and has designed a software called “Gaze” for Windows 8. It is essentially an eye-controlled device or web cam that tells you exactly where you are looking. It creates a mouse-free environment for normal PC’s and makes it possible to interact in better ways than touch and mouse. To lauch an app, hold the Windows key, look at the app and release the key.

With Gaze, selecting and clicking becomes instant and fast. You can also use zoom and auto-center to quickly navigate, overview and access information. In your web browser, just look at the URL, search field or web form and start typing. The text will be entered exactly where you want it to. Unlike touch, your fingers won’t block your view thereby making it easy to select a link irrespective of the size, either small or big it doesn’t matter.

Tobii’s technology may not only be used for moving cursors, but also for video game design applications.

The app will be available worldwide on Thursday via the Apple App Store.

The Windows App Store will have both consumer as well as enterprise apps and will compete directly with Apple App Store and that of Google’s Android Market in the rapidly expanding market of online apps.

As said by the VP Mr. Leblond , “Windows from Microsoft powers more than half a billion PCs around the globe which exceeds the number of cars on this planet.” This huge market is surely going to attract independent developers. However, Microsoft’s presence in the smartphone/tablet market is rather meagre.

Microsoft’s store will differ from the Apple App Store as it gives the freedom to developers to choose their own business models. Microsoft will take 30% of the revenue from apps sold at its appstore, giving the remaining 70% to its developer. However, after the application sales revenue crosses $25,000, Microsoft will reduce its share to 20%. Developers have also been given the independence to select the price of their apps in between the range set by Microsoft- $1.49 to $999.99, as Leblond puts it ” a 1000 bucks is too much for an app”. Developers also get to keep all the money from in-app transactions.

• Double click on the OEMBackground, and change its value from 0 to 1.

•  Now,open windows explorer and navigate to : %windir%\system32\oobe (%windir% refers to location of Windows 7)
• Create a new folder and name it info(if it does not exists). Now, create another new folder inside info and name it as backgrounds.
• Rename the wallpaper which you want as background to backgroundDefault and place it in the background folder. (image should be a .jpg file of size less than 256KB)

That’s it! Logoff and watch the changes.

The graph displays the stability of your system on a daily basis. It identifies unexpected issues and provides a report that you can study and utilize to reduce the cause of decreasing reliability. To access the Reliabilty Monitor, Go to Control Panel >> Action Center >> Reliability Monitor. The simplest and easiest way is just type ‘reliability’ in the search box and hit Enter.

Once the Reliabilty Monitor opens, you can see a graph depicting the stability of your system in the recent period. For the past, you can traverse to your left by clicking on the graph and then using your left arrow. On the day you installed Windows 7 you are given a stability index of 10(most stable). To the extreme right you can find your present day stability index and five reliability events. These events include : Application Failures, Windows Failures, Miscellaneous Failures, Warnings, and Information. Different type of icons represent different errors. The errors are discussed in detailed in the lower window of the Reliability Monitor. Any recent failure leads to a sharp decrease in the index. The stability index will increase if there are no system failures.

Reliability Monitors helps you to diagnose and analyze the problems in your system that are affecting your stability. For example, in the above graph, on 26/9/2011, a update and reconfiguration of Adobe Acrobat X Pro (informational events) along with a critical event where Google Chrome had a issue, reduced the stability index. It provides an interface similar to control panel with all settings listed in several categories and also enabling it in Windows 7 is very easy.

You have to follow 2 simple steps-:

1) Right click on any place wherever you want and click on “New”->”Folder”.

2) Rename that folder to “GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}”

See the magic. The folder icon changes to something similar to a control panel and when you open it,you see a bunch of settings listed directly.

To set up a Ad Hoc network :

• Open Control Panel >>  Network and Sharing Center.

• Click on Set up a new connection or network.

• Double – Click on Set up a wireless ad hoc (computer-computer) network and then click on the Next button.
• Enter a network name and a security key(recommended).Check the Save this network box and then click on Next.

• Click on Turn on Internet sharing connection.

If done correctly, you have now created a wireless Ad Hoc network.
