Apple isn’t just famous because of its computers, tablets and phones. Besides hardware devices, Apple is working on all sorts of services and applications. Besides Mac, iPhone and iPod we have all sorts of software coming from Apple such as Mac OS, Safari and widely popular iTunes.

Speaking of iTunes you surely know that iTunes is highly used media player. In addition, iTunes is used for arranging the contents of your iPad, iPod and iPhone. Besides arranging the content with iTunes, you can connect to the iTunes store via internet and purchase all sorts of music, TV shows, games, audiobooks and apps for iPhone and iPad. Best thing about iTunes is that you can use it on your Mac or PC and on any other Apple product with ease. Because it has huge compatibility and great features, it’s no wonder that iTunes has so many users, and when a certain service has a great number of users safety of its users becomes a priority.

Speaking of iTunes and security, somebody has found a security hole in iTunes but luckily damage was minimal so every three of 10 000 000 iTunes accounts were affected. Apparently the person behind the attack is Thuat Nguyen. Thuat Nguyen is app developer that hacked iTunes accounts in order to purchase his own apps. Users have noticed something weird when they saw charges linked to his apps that they didn’t purchase. When Apple noticed that 42 out of 50 most popular apps on iTunes was by a single developer it was certain that something unusual was going on. Some users were even charged more than $1000 for certain apps. On the end it turns out that 400 iTunes accounts were compromised but that doesn’t seem like a huge number because iTunes has more than 150 million of users. We hope that we won’t see this kind of hacks on iTunes anymore and we’re hoping that all users that were charged for the apps that they didn’t order will get their money back.
