Apple got back 16 domains from a cyber squatter

Apple took hold of 16 domains from a guy named Daniel Bijan who is a songwriter/producer and entrepreneur. It is suggested by the ICANN that whenever you register a domain follow these rules which are meant for registering a new domain. This guy registered domains which were apple’s trademark product.

So, whenever you think of new domain ,please do ample research on the doman history and the domain keyword as it might happen that you are using someone’s trademark in your domain. Even WordPress the premier blogging platform doesnt allow using wordpress in your domain name.

The following  domains were siezed by apple from the domain squatter :

blueipod.com
iphonecheap.com
iphonetoys.com
ipodaccessories.info
ipodkits.com
ipodsbaratos.com
macbookpro.biz
macbookpro.com
macbookpro.net
macbookpro.org
macfriend.com
redipods.com
macbook.us
macbookpro.us
macbooks.us
macpro.us

Quite right too! I am all for people registering a domain name (whether or not they have a trademark in that domain name) if they have a legitimate interest in using it. But the problem with the first come, first served system is that it is prone to abuse.
